The NX client (standalone Windows software) is no longer useful to access ESRF, and can be removed from your computer.
Previous access method using NX software (also known as NoMachine) is now deprecated. Generic accounts or proposal accounts are not allowed for security reasons. Its just like your previous remote desktop client - only better. It must be an account linked to a physical person. NoMachine gives you remote desktop access to your devices over networks. It can be an ESRF staff account, or a nominative SMIS account.
